ALL CUTICLES IN THE SAME DIRECTION: This means the hair shafts remain aligned in the direction they originally grew. This is key. If the cuticles were not aligned and all facing the same direction, then they can rub against each other causing friction, leading to matting and tangling, which can become a headache to deal with. While it’s more time-consuming to source, process, and produce, the results are infinitely higher-quality and longer-lasting hair extensions.
The differ from common human hair extensions?
Common human hair extensions are made from hair collected from brushes and where it has fallen onto the floor after being cut. Clearly, this is very different to how Remy hair is gathered.
Because of this, the hair cuticles all lay in different directions. To combat this, the hair is put into an acid bath, which works to remove the entire cuticle from the hair, before it is chemically processed and dipped into silicone.
While this process of dipping the hair in silicone may make the hair feel soft and shiny at first, this silkiness will quickly be lost. After washing, the silicone coating will wear off, leaving the hair feeling harsh and brittle.

Remy hair extensions are worth purchasing for the lifespan alone, as they last much longer than other hair extensions on the market. By correctly looking after your Remy extensions, you can expect Premium Remy to last between 6 to 9 months, and Cuticle Remy to last between 12 to 18 months, even up to 24 months if look after carefully.
